Lifestyle and Activities
The health of our residents is a priority and we have built excellent relationships with local health professionals.
Local GPs and district nurses visit the home regularly. In consultation with the GP arrangements can be made either through the NHS or privately for:
• Occupational therapy
• Physiotherapy
• Dental care
• Eye care
• Dietetics
• Speech therapy
• Continence advice
• Chiropodist
• Specialist medical consultants
Activities
We look to ensure that all residents engage in an active and independent lifestyle wherever possible. The homes have access to private gardens and also a pub room!
We encourage this by:
• Looking to maintain relationships with family and friends
• Placing no restriction on visiting times but the most convenient times are between 10.30am and 7.30pm.
• Participation in daily activities – cooking, listening to or taking part in musical events, craft activities, gardening, quizzes, story-telling, films and TV and much more
• Celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and events
• Supporting special interest and hobbies
• Arranging shopping trips and outings
• Regular visits from both hairdressers and chiropodists
• Continuation of the residents’ religious practices within or outside the home
