Lifestyle activities at The Lodges residential care homes in Roath Park, Cardiff.
We offer a range of activities within the home. This includes physical activities and exercises, reminiscence, musical events, creative arts, story -telling, poetry reading, quizzes, games, gardening, cooking, table decorating, films and TV, discussions, parties, choirs, entertainers and more.
It is the policy of Ty-draw and Wentworth Lodges to facilitate the continuance of the residents’ religious practices. If this involves attendance at services outside the home, residents should arrange transport and be accompanied by friends or relatives if necessary.
Currently, ministers and church visitors from different religious organizations visit residents privately on request, and whilst the homes are not linked to any particular denomination the owners are christians.
The homes have ample Lounge and dining spaces many of which directly overlook the park.
Every room is individually decorated and furnished to a very high standard more reflective of a small high quality hotel or private residence than a care home. Nonetheless all the physical adaptations necessary for safe and easy living have been discretely incorporated.
All residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with artifacts from their home which further promote the “non – institutional” but “homely” atmosphere. There are small but pleasant gardens to the rear of both the homes which have seating areas for our residents’ enjoyment.
We have also recently made some wonderful improvements to the external garden areas at the homes together with an amazing pub room! To see photos of these developments – click here.
