Our beautiful care home for older people and those with dementia has had a giant makeover in the last few months.  The additions and improvements have been too numerous to describe in full, but just to whet your appetite here are details of just some of the many changes. The Lodges -Wentworth Lodge Lounge

Our dining room has had a complete refurbishment – new décor, tables, lights and more. To complete the experience all our menus have been updated with our staff receiving additional training to enable them to deliver meals that you would normally expect from a restaurant (or at home if “MUM” was a really good cook!).

The stairways have had carpet re fitted, the downstairs bathroom /wet room has been completely refurbished, the remaining UPVC windows have been fitted , the rear garden has had some TLC and there is a definite feel that “Spring is in the air”.

Of course we couldn’t forget our kitchen! That too has been completely refitted, black and white and looks great. All the staff and residents approve. Mind you, it  was a serious challenge having no kitchen at all for 3 days but  we overcame and everyone enjoyed a perfectly normal diet! We are sure that the environmental health officer will think its pretty good too.

Talking of which, we are delighted that Danielle Cottrell is now working in the day to day management of Wentworth. She is full of energy, enthusiasm and great ideas. She is currently developing personal individual activity plans for every resident, has recruited some additional members of the staff team, and says “She is addicted to Wentworth Lodge!” But actually that is the kind of effect the home has on people. Wentworth lodge is unique and provides a wonderful standard of care. It really is a beautiful home and together with our sister home Tydraw Lodge , we believe we are right to be  proud of  the care we provide.

So why not come and view the home and check out what people are saying about us in our quality surveys. Even if you don’t need us now you may do one day!
